Ingredients
50g margarine
45g flour
500ml reduced fat milk
100g parmesan cheese, grated
1 bunch chives, chopped
pinch black pepper
500g McCain Cauliflower & Broccoli
Method
Heat a non-stick saucepan and slowly melt the margarine. Remove from heat and mix in the flour. Return saucepan to stove to cook, but do not brown. Remove from heat again, add milk and whisk gradually, making sure mixture does not turn lumpy. Return to heat, add the parmesan cheese and keep cooking for a few minutes until thickened. Add the chives and black pepper to taste. Prepare McCain Cauliflower & Broccoli as per pack instructions. Serve with cheese and chive sauce poured over the top or alongside.
